HOW IT WORKS

See how StairMOD goes from a box to a beautifully illuminated staircase;

step by step.

THE FUTURE OF DIY STAIR LIGHTING

Your staircase. Smarter.

Beautiful stair lighting without the complicated process. See how StairMod works from installation to the first time your lights come on.

Start With Your Steps

CHOOSE YOUR SYSTEM

Start by counting the number of steps in your staircase. From there, choose the kit size that matches your staircase and select the light colour that suits your space.

We offer multiple configurations to suit different staircase lengths, with Warm White, Neutral White and Cool White options available.

Not sure which kit is right for you? We're happy to help.

Create Your Look

INSTALL YOUR LIGHTS

Position your lights beneath each step, connect them to the main cable and install your motion sensors at each end of the staircase.

You don't need to figure out complicated individual wiring — the system is designed to keep everything connected through one main cable.

One Main Connection. Less Mess.

CONNECT THE SYSTEM

Once your strips are positioned, connect them to the main connection cable.

Rather than running separate wiring to every step, the main cable connects the staircase lighting together, keeping the installation much cleaner and more organised.

The system operates on 24V DC low voltage and can support up to 240W when using the 24V configuration.

For mains power connections, we recommend using a qualified electrician.

Your Staircase Knows When You're Coming

INSTALL YOUR SENSORS

Install the two PIR motion sensors at opposite ends of your staircase.

As you approach from either direction, the sensors detect movement and tell the controller to activate the lights.

The sensors can be surface mounted or recessed for a more discreet finish.

With the sensors positioned correctly, your staircase responds naturally whether you're heading up or down.

Your Staircase. Your Settings.

MAKE IT YOURS

Once everything is connected, customise the lighting to suit your home.

Use the controller or included remote to adjust:

Brightness
Fine-tune the light intensity to your preference.

Speed
Control how quickly the lights illuminate from step to step.

Delay
Choose how long the lights remain on after activation.

Lighting Mode
Choose from 12 different lighting modes to find your favourite effect.

This Is Where StairMOD Comes To Life

WALK IN. WATCH IT LIGHT UP.

Everything is set.

Now simply walk towards your staircase.

The motion sensor detects you and the first step illuminates. Then the next. Then the next — creating a smooth sequence of light across your entire staircase.

As you move through the staircase, the lights continue to respond to you. When you're done, they automatically switch off according to your chosen delay.

No switches. No searching for the lights.

Just walk. StairMOD does the rest.

Your Staircase. Reimagined.

Beautiful lighting. Smarter technology. A staircase you'll notice every time you walk past it.

GENERAL

What is StairMod?

0 2

StairMOD is a modern stair lighting brand designed to make your staircase more functional, atmospheric and visually striking.

Our systems range from simple solar-powered step lights to motion-activated LED systems that illuminate your staircase step-by-step.

Which StairMod product is right for me?

0 3

It depends on your staircase and the look you're after.

Wedge Step Light — best for outdoor stairs, pathways and other exterior spaces. It's solar powered, wireless and designed for easy installation.

Motion Stair Light Kit — best for indoor staircases where you want the signature step-by-step lighting effect. It uses motion sensors and LED strips to automatically illuminate your stairs as you approach.

How many lights do I need?

0 4

For the Wedge Step Light, we recommend 2 lights per step for a balanced look.

For the Motion Stair Light Kit, the general setup is one LED strip per step.

Simply count your steps and select the corresponding kit.

Can I send you a photo of my staircase?

0 5

Absolutely.

If you're unsure which product, size or configuration is right for you, send us a photo of your staircase and we'll help you work it out.

INSTALLATION

Is StairMod difficult to install?

0 7

We've designed our systems to make installation as straightforward as possible.

The Motion Stair Light Kit uses a central main cable, so you don't need to run a separate wiring setup for every step.

The Wedge Step Light is even simpler — it's solar powered and requires no electrical wiring.

For mains power connections or electrical work, we recommend using a qualified electrician.

How does the Motion Stair Light Kit work?

0 8

Two PIR motion sensors sit at either end of your staircase. When you approach, the system detects your movement and illuminates the steps one by one.

Once you've passed through, the lights automatically switch off according to your chosen delay.

Can I adjust the lighting?

0 9

Yes. You can customise the brightness, speed, activation delay and lighting mode to create the effect you want.

The system includes 99 brightness levels, 99 speed settings, 99 delay settings and 12 lighting modes.

Does it turn on during the day?

10

The system includes a daylight sensor, which is designed to prevent the lights from unnecessarily activating when there is sufficient ambient light. Although you can manually turn it on using the included remote if desired.

Can I adjust the brightness?

11

Yes.

The controller provides 99 brightness levels, allowing you to fine-tune the intensity of your staircase lighting.

What if my steps are different sizes?

12

The COB LED strips can be cut every 50mm, allowing you to achieve a clean fit across different step widths.

USING YOUR LIGHTS

Does the Wedge Step Light need sunlight?

14

Yes. The integrated solar panel needs sunlight during the day to recharge the battery.

For the best performance, install the lights somewhere that receives good direct sunlight.

How long will the Wedge Step Light stay on?

15

With a full charge, the Wedge Step Light can provide up to 10 hours of illumination. Actual runtime will vary depending on sunlight and weather conditions.

Can the Motion Stair Light Kit be used outdoors?

16

No. The LED strip is IP30 and designed for indoor use.

For outdoor stairs, we recommend the Wedge Step Light, which is IP65 weather resistant.
